My current clients are delighted with their children's improved enthusiasm and performance towards learning to play the piano, mixing theory work with learning new contemporary or traditional pieces. Everyone is certainly enjoying their new and improved ability to both sight read and play by ear. Some are even transposing songs at grade one, after just a few weeks, while also being able to improvise with other players and other instruments.
I am a current member of ASCAP and other various musical associations, established during my career, being a recently qualified elementary school teacher who greatly appreciates the needs for those aged 5 to 11. I hope this website enlightens you to some of my success on cruise ships as a music performer while giving you a chance to hear some of those recordings played on radio around the world.
There are no age limits to my lessons, though I have found that those under 5 are generally not quite ready for the attention seeking demands of the piano. I cover a full range of styles from the Classics to Boogie Woogie, So that you will be able to play some party pieces, at least, after just a few lessons with me.
At present I'm not taking students specifically to pass exams, but to get enjoyment from being able to play for fun or be able to create and write their own music in whatever style or mood they like.
